Having previously failed to arrange a marriage for Deepa, Sravya's father, with whom Deepa lives, withholds the information to gain her acceptance. However, Karthik asks permission to marry Deepa. Sravya is initially overjoyed as she assumes she will marry Karthik, but on learning the truth, she threatens suicide unless Karthik marries her. Aditya's mother, Soundarya, accepts Aditya's match as Sravya is light-skinned, and Sravya's parents agree.
